What: DanceParade 2012 A multicultural event that engages the community in the artistic expression of dance. This affair is a colorful burst of social music, traditional and modern dancing, colorful costumes and floats and loads of energy. Thanksgiving Morning with Floating Friends
The Balloons Took Center Stage At The Thanksgiving Day Parade The morning is brisk, but fans are still out in full force. The excitement is in the air and they are eager to see the oversized balloons pass by in the 85th Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade. There were over 35 different balloons including the Aflac Duck, Snoopy, Kung Fu Panda and Kool-Aid that made their way into Times Square. The parade was a star-studded event. The Huffington Post reported appearances by Mary J. Blige, Cee Lo Green, Avril Lavigne, and the Muppets of Sesame Street.
Running The Race Was Hard
But the Achievement Was Sweet Anyone who’s been to the ING New York City Marathon knows that it is an event to prepare for, but here’s a glimpse at what when down this year. Fans, family and friends line the streets earlier this month in support of all the athletes who were brave enough to run the 26.2-mile course. The path starts in Staten Island, snakes its way into Brooklyn, up and over to Queens, across to Manhattan, up to the Bronx and finally back to Manhattan. The finish line was set in Central Park. The story this week features the awesomeness of the Brooklyn Bridge. According to a New York website, the construction took 14 years to complete. Cleaned Clothes In An Old Place (Update)
Not quite state of the art, but almost… New York is an exciting city, but it’s also a very old city. In the Bronx even the streets, sidewalks and buildings show their age.
